Beautiful, hand-painted set of 10 Russian nesting dolls from the Shelmar Collection. Made in Russia and imported by Ziegler Enterprises in Trenton, NJ. Signed by the artist O.N. Nekrasova.
The largest doll is signed “Matpëha” (Matryona).
The dolls feature whimsical winter scenes.
In excellent, vintage condition. This is an extraordinarily rare set that was purchased at an upscale antique shop many years ago.
