Printed Summary:
Considered one of the most challenging games in Georgia, the dove thrives both in rural and su parts of the state.
Pine trees, as seen on the cover, are favorite pe and nesting places for doves.
Although the state has a substantial resident p of the species, each fall, that number is swelled migratory doves winging south for the winter. witness the southern migration from late Octo through early December. Compared to other game birds found in Georgia, the dove is the most prolific. They sometimes have as many as six broods a year with each clutch having about two to four eggs.
The cover picture was painted by Lanford Burnette, a native of Alabama. Mrs. Burnette, who now lives in South Dakota, is the daughter of C.E. Monroe, Jr., a nationally-recognized portrait and wildlife painter.
