Three stunning plates 10”, 6” and 4” in size. Made in Greece, plate collection with 24kt gold trim and hand painted in Greece.
- Greek Mythology depictions with Gods/Goddsses names. 24kt gold hand painted trim. Makers stamps on back.
-Kostas Depastas is the maker of these Greek plates as you can see the letter D on the back of the plates. He lives on the Greek island of Sifnos and is one of the last of the old time potters. In his workshop in Heronissos, perhaps the most isolated settlement on the island.
-He uses traditional methods to make his simple ceramic pottery beginning with digging his own clay and gathering wood to heat his kiln. On an island of masters Kostas is considered one of the best and an afternoon watching him at work is an afternoon well spent. The name Depastas probably has it's roots in the Venetian occupation of the island.
-Purchased in Greece, and retains original stamps/tags/makers marks.markings on back of each.
