Vintage Indonesian Batak Sumatran figural shaman medicine container.- Batak Sumatran medicine practices, particularly among the Toba Batak, involve the use of ritual containers, medicine books, and magical concoctions overseen by shamans or datus (ritual specialists).- Hand carved from solid wood, the lid a darker variety and the base fashioned from bamboo.- Figural lid on top featuring a man riding a donkey.- Cylinder is inscribed with a calendar design.- Good overall condition.
