This is a very special two tone brown felt wide brim hat from the 1940s'. The crown is open, and intricately topstitched, as seen in the photos. The folly wide brim is also topstitched on top, and on the bottom. As you may see in the photos, the b bottom of the brim is made of a lighter brown felt. There is a brown velour bow on top of the brim at one side, plus beautiful brown ostrich feathers.The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Store Label: STROUSS HIRSHBERG'S This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
