Antique Egyptian Funerary Box with Hieroglyphics | Grand Tour Era (c.1780-1920s)

This beautiful antique Egyptian faience-blue funerary trinket box is in superb condition for its age, with only minor chipping along the edges of the piece. The box would have been originally used as a repository of treasured items meant to accompany a loved one in death.

This piece was made by local Egyptians for affluent visitors who traveled to Egypt on educational Grand Tours of various archaeologically significant sites between 1780-1920s; a time also known as the Egyptian Revival Period.
This Egyptian funerary box is attested to as authentic and to have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” era by Mr Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands, Ltd, and is accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its Provenance & Ownership documentation.
