Provide martins luxurious new accommodations in your yard with this Deluxe Purple Martin Gourd. The 2.875 diameter entry sits on the narrower side of the base, allowing birds to build their nest deep in the unit for protection from predators. An included, plastic porch can also be installed on the entry, transforming it into a 2.75” wide and 1.5 tall, crescent shaped opening.
Raised lines on the porch allow songbirds to grip it, and this platform extends inward inside the home for extra resting and perching area, as well as a barrier against potential predators. Four 0.375” diameter openings at the top of the item accommodate gourd rods, and allow you to orient the item parallel or perpendicular to your pole for versatility.
A slight arch above each opening prevents water from entering the nest, and several drainage holes around the base allow any captured water to exit.
