CAPTIVATING 1940s' BLACK FELT FEDORA + UPTURNED BRIM + SALMON COLORED FEATHERS

What a beautiful black felt fedora from the 1940s'! It consists of a conical crown surrounded red by a wide, upturned brim at the from, which gradually tapers down towards the back. There are two imposing salmon colored curling feathers at one side, plus a half black veil. One of the feathers is a lighter shade and the other a darker shade.The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Inside the hat there is an imprint stating is is made in the USA.There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation.This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
