Black Diamond Covert 32L Avalung Backpack Backcountry Ski Snowboard Avalanche

Really interesting backpack from Black Diamond. It’s designed for backcountry skiing/snowboarding, and has a breathing tube built into one of the straps which theoretically would allow one to survive longer in the event of an avalanche. It draws in air from your surroundings and expels it through an exhaust port on the side. The idea being that you can pull more air from the “pocket of snow” you’re trapped in. Allegedly, it can quadruple your air supply.How well this system actually works, I don’t know, but the backpack itself is quite nice. It’s 32L, and has all the bells and whistles you would want in a backcountry skiing/snowboarding backpack, or even just a regular hiking backpack. According to Black Diamond, it can carry skis.Overall condition is good. Has some signs of use, but by and large it’s structurally sound with no flaws. Everything works as expected.Size Small/Medium, or 18 inch torso. I’m 5’8”, 175 lbs, stocky, with a 19 inch torso and it honestly fits me great. If you’re approximately this torso length or less (it’s adjustable), then I think it’ll suit you just fine.
